Memorial Day Weekend

What an awesome weekend!  Judy and I just messed around all weekend.  We were up at 6 each morning and enjoyed coffee and breakfast on the patio.  Shortly after getting our coffee fix, we found ourselves working in the back yard while it was still cool.  We planted and cleaned up the patio.  I moved furniture around and got everything just like I wanted it.  After the coolness started passing, but before the heat of the day hit, we went shopping!  To Michael's for scrapbook stuff, Lowes and Teal Greenhouse for plants, Hobby Lobby for cute stuff for outside and lunch here and there.  Then back home and inside during the heat of the day for 3 wonderfully creative days of cardmaking.  Pinterest and Dotty for You was our best friends!  Then, as the evening approached, and the patio got shaded, we moved outside to grilling for dinner and finishing the patio.  We even got the old lawnmower sold! VERY productive weekend!  YEAH FOR US!!!  I'd put some pictures up, but they are on my phone and I haven't sent them to myself yet.  But, they are on Facebook!

Love this Spring Weather!

Yesterday was the absolute perfect day.  High was low 70's.  Nice breeze.  Even the pollen count seemed low (at least the stuff that bothers my sinuses!).  It was Mother's Day and I spent the day doing just what I wanted.  Nothing big.  Just messed around the house... sheets changed, yard mowed and trimmed, read a little, watched a little TV, worked a little in my scrapbook room and fixed myself a wonderful dinner!  Filet on the grill along with a stuffed shiratake mushroom and corn on the cob.  YUMMM!  I was in no hurry all day and not once felt stressed!  How awesome is THAT!

So, I'm heading back to work today, relaxed and ready to conquer the week!  I might just take off Friday to give myself a nice 3 day weekend.  OWH is Saturday, so that would be nice to have the day before and afterwards to relax... some more!  I can get used to this!

My Mom Used to Say...

"Time just goes so much faster the older you get!"  I used to think she was crazy.  But now I know she's not!  I can't decide if it goes faster because we are busier or what!  I would just like for it to slow down a bit.  We are already breathing down the neck of May... and then July will be here and gone and the Fall Retreat will be right around the corner and then CHRISTMAS!!!

Ok...ok... deep breath.  Eyes closed... R E L A X....

Just R E L A X...

I wish it was that easy!  I know it's because I have so much planned... this Saturday, consultant's thing at Christina's... May 3 - 6, trip to KC to meet up with Diana and do birthdays with the grandkids... May 11th, Allysa's graduation in Webb City... May 19th, OWH... June 6 - 9, conference at work... July 18 - 23, trip to Dallas with Lyla, Miranda and Peggy... and see, I am already into August, when I have my Open House and I'm gearing up for my Fall Retreat in October and THEN, there's CHRISTMAS!!!

Oh, good grief.  If I were home, I'd go take a nap.

Busy Day!

I took today as vacation.  The new cleaning lady came and I wanted to be here to meet her.  That is certainly something that is so unnecessary, but SO nice.  I love being in a clean house, I just HATE to clean it.  I just have so many other things that need my attention.  SO... I am not going to feel guilty.  I'm not.  Really.

I Ordered a Kindle

While I love listening to books in my car, I am missing that "reading" that I used to do.  The downtime, quiet time and just relaxing time you get from sitting down and reading page by page and word by word.  I do too much multi-tasking the way it is... I need focus time.  I didn't go crazy and get the Kindle Fire, although I did contemplate that... the color and web browsing was very tempting, BUT, I refrained and got it for what I originally wanted it for... READING!  Besides, one person who owns a desktop, 2 laptops, a netbook AND an iPhone, doesn't need another "web-browsing" device!!!

So, I'm excited... since I'm a Amazon Prime member, I have access to the free lending library AND I can get books from the library.  It's all good!

Well...can't totally blame it on Pinterest!

While I do spend a lot of time on Pinterest, I can't totally blame it for me not posting in a while!

We had our consultant's retreat in Branson a few weeks ago, then I started planning this Girl Scout fundraiser crop, then I got involved in making drapes for a friend at work, then I had an OWH party, then I got busy getting ready for my Open House this coming weekend. WHAT is WRONG with ME!!! 

I really need some down time... D O W N T I M E is what I NEED!  I guess I can do that when I get all of this stuff done!

Phew.  For now, I'm getting ready to go to bed!  Night!

Pinterest! Can You Say AHHHHH!!!!

Pinterest is taking over my life!  I am so serious!  I am cooking from recipes found on there and now I'm making more cards than ever and only because I found them on PINTEREST!  Now, I have to figure out how to add a link from here to there!  I've seen it done on other blogs and NOW, I must have it!
